FAQs

1. What is The SAM School’s mission?

The SAM School provides a universal education rooted in Sephardic-Judaic culture, Torah knowledge and observance, and the study of sciences, humanities, and the arts. We balance rigorous academics with a humane, joyful approach to learning, always grounded in Jewish identity and classical Sephardic heritage.

2. What makes SAM unique?

  • Academic Excellence: Research-based curriculum, small class sizes, and teachers who know each child deeply. Students explore STEM, literacy, music, and the arts through inquiry and real-world connections.

  • Hesed (Kindness): Service and compassion are woven into daily life, from simple gestures in early grades to community projects in middle school.

  • Israel: Hebrew immersion, Ivrit b’Ivrit instruction, and deep cultural connection foster a lifelong pride in Israel.

  • The Arts: Piano, music ensembles, fine arts, theater, and “SAM Talks” give students the confidence to create, perform, and express themselves.

3. What ages and grades does SAM serve?

We currently welcome students from Toddler through 7th Grade, with plans to expand to high school. Our programs include:

  • Early Childhood: Play-based, joyful, nurturing learning.

  • Elementary: Strong foundation in Torah, literacy, STEM, and the arts.

  • Middle School: Interdisciplinary, project-based learning that builds critical thinking, independence, and leadership.

4. How does SAM connect to Sephardic heritage?

Sephardic tradition inspires our approach to scholarship, culture, and Jewish identity. Students encounter Torah, language, and history through a lens of religious humanism, intellectual curiosity, and cultural recognition, echoing the Sephardic Golden Age.

5. When was the school founded?

SAM was founded in 2010 by Rabbi Elie Abadie, M.D., and a group of visionary parents. What began as a preschool has grown into a thriving school community across multiple campuses, now serving over 100 students annually.

6. Who leads the school?

Our leadership team includes experts in curriculum, Torah learning, child development, and school culture. They bring both vision and heart, ensuring every child is seen, every teacher supported, and every decision aligned with Jewish values.

Parents are vital partners in our community. Through our Parent Association and school events, families help shape school culture, celebrate holidays, and create unforgettable experiences.
