About

The Elementary School

Our elementary program is a natural extension of the early childhood experience. Children learn in a joyful and loving environment that promotes their growth and independence in social, emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual domains. Our unique approach combines rigorous achievement in Jewish and universal studies with cutting edge learning methodologies. Influenced by Sephardic traditional principles, students develop into ethical and moral individuals with strong values and good character, poised for success in the modern world.

Students learn to read and write in English and Hebrew, examine select Torah portions, and perform mathematics in individualized groupings, ensuring each student receives instruction at the appropriate level and pace. We employ research based curriculum that successfully develops understanding as well as fluency and is grounded in best educational practices. Our talented faculty designs learning experiences to delight and challenge students both inside and outside of the classroom. Manhattan is our laboratory, providing a great variety of cultural experiences to help our students learn about themselves, their communities, and the world.

Students engage in project-based learning where they are challenged to examine real world problems and develop solutions. Over the course of each study children learn how to conduct investigations, research, synthesize and apply knowledge. This practice empowers children to see themselves as capable of having real impact while developing their thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity.
